Separate names with a comma.
Just to expand, you need a new cable because you can trash your device's internals if you run a balanced adapter to a SE cable.
Ahhh Ok roger that.
If I have 2.5mm cable to MMCX, I can use an Adapter yes 2.5MM to 4.4MM ??
Yes there is no issue going 2.5mm balanced to 4.4mm balanced. That is how I have virtually all of my balanced cables... my DAP has a 4.4 balanced port. I really dislike straight 4.4 connectors as they stick up quite prominently out of a DAP, hindering portability. As 90degree angled 4.4mm connectors are pretty hard to find, I use a 2.5mm straight connector into a 90degree angled 2.5 - 4.4 adapter.
By the way, you can also go balanced to single ended with a converter. It is just dangerous to go single ended to balanced (though, somewhere in the back of my mind I seem to remember someone mentioning such an an adapter, but the benefits of such a conversion seem pretty minimal even if possible).
Thank you for the Insight Jsmiller58
I've even seen those adapters, I don't know why any company would sell one. It might seem like a good idea to someone who doesn't know better, but it's probably going to fry your DAP. I'm sure some people think "it's no big deal, it's just changing the size." Then snap, crackle, pop.
I have a BGVP DMS up for sale here - https://www.head-fi.org/threads/fs-bgvp-dms-6ba-1dd.910966/.
Damage and PR control coming in boys!
Right direction, right direction.
I get an old fashioned good feeling reading that.
"...plus $5 discount on the new DM8, which we assure will have no spike at 8k, no loose connectors, will ship promptly, but every 10th order will include a live scorpion!"
Just wondering why the hate when BGVP clearly are taking responsibility and falling on their sword here... would be great if other companies did the same.
It took the third disaster in a year to publicly acknowledge issues in an attempt to save the brand, but if the post were intended to be hateful, the surprise scorpion ratio would've been higher than 10%. Peace!
Agreed, they dropped the ball time and again.
Well, redeeming thing IMO is that:
They are one of the best at providing the best price to performance ratio and
They know how to do a PR & damage control.
HifiMan... ‘Nuff said.
