Get the $400 units on Ebay. The time to get them at close to that on Amazon passed with the holidays.

I haven't seen them selling for less than $4xx which is why I jumped on the Beyerdynamic deal on ebay.  I was saving my money for either HD800 or T1 but after reading everything I suspect I will get 95% or more of the way there for less than half the price. I'll drop the remaining money into a new amp or something else

Yes. When I bought mine I thought they were selling at least one other pair. However, I just checked and it was no longer listed on the ebay store. You might want to check back periodically.  HeadAmp is also selling some open/returned cans. No T90s but some HD600, HE-400, LCD's etc.

I am using them with a recently received Meier Audio Dacord Dac + Classic amp. The -2 db cut at 10 Khz & 12 Khz is no longer required

. They sound perfect un-Eq'd. I have read on Head Fi that Jan Meier voices his stuff based on the HD 800 / T1, maybe this has something to do with the fact that they tame the T90 treble. Also the T90's bass has a nice punch with the Meier stack. Didn't expect this from a SS amp, love how life surprises you sometimes.

I got a similar set up, Mdac/Corda Classic......I still find they fair better with the -2 cut.....but its all personal preference. Agree on the Amp been an awesome match for them though. 
 
With that combo it sounds like got advice through headphonic? hehe

Maybe the difference is the Meier Dac , I will try the Meier Classic amp with Audio GD NFB 7 Dac & see it that affects the sound. Also I use the Meier amp with the frequency boost switch at the top (maximum) position & crossfeed off, as I find that this gives the most "warm" sound.

Checked with the NFB 7 + Meier Classic, need to apply EQ with it. So guess the Meier Dac + amp combo is more warm & works better with the T90's (with the low frequency boost switch on).

Well - a couple of weeks into my T90 Ownership and I have to say I love the sound of these headphones!
 I dont know if the headphones or my brain has broken in but the brightness seems to have smoothed out and I don't even need the EQ settings anymore.
 
I know opinions are polorised with the t90s but paint me very very happy with this purchase. I cant even listen to my hd650s anymore.

...and why I'm trying to sell me HE-400. It's a great headphone but the T90 is getting way more head time. I'm reaching for the HE-400 less and less.

Also why I sold my HE500's. T90 is more comfortable for me and was getting most of the use. With my Darkvoice 336i, they sing so nicely. Especially with my Sylvania 6sn7 and Bendix 6080. So nice.
