Today I finally managed to break my Audio-Technica ATH-ES55 and now I need to get some new, amazing headphones asap. I can't decide between these 2 phones. I know they are different price categories but it may not matter, I don't know. I just liked them both by reviews I went through so far. So how would you compare them, soundwise ? Which one sounds better to you ?

Considering that the ATH-ES55 tend to have their flimsy cables break quickly, I would go for the AKG Y50...or if you have the extra cash to buy it, the Beyerdynamic Aventho.

Both are relatively uncomfortable imo, the Beyerdynamic even more so due to the tight clamping force. Unfortunately, it's the better sounding HP imo. It definitely sounds better when fed some power, so if using from a phone, I'd go with the AKG. What's your budget, and are you open to other options?

My requirements: Must be foldable, at least flat. Good sound. No budget limit. Well, no more than 450$ I guess xD.
Comfort is not relevant, at all. I am a tough guy :D :D :D. I gave a listen to both of them in a shop and I agree that t51p sounds much better. I ordered them but I am still open for other options because who knows, maybe I'll not be satisfied :D. I also checked out Beyerdynamic Custom Street briefly and they seem pretty cool sounding too, ofcourse 3 bass modes being pretty useful making them so versatile !
I plan to upgrade from my old sony walkman to some proper source, in close future. So I guess I'll get enough power for any portables :).

There's a lot of portable, foldable over ear headphones that will sound much better than most on ear headphones. Options are endless
