I think the DT 990's would be better but is paying the extra 100$(CAD) worth it over the cheaper AD700X's? 
 
I am looking to try out some open back headphones because I want to be impressed by the music i am listening to. I want to be able to sit down for 30 min's after work; eyes closed kicked back just listening and feel energized after. 
 
which would you suggest? maybe there is a better option out there? let me know.

The AD700X are very bass light, but otherwise nice sound.
DT990 have a strong bass/treble and need to be used with a decent headphone amplifier.
