Beyerdynamic is confusing.

The one I found in my local shop has PRO on them. I heard this model is the 2005 version and that it doesn't compare to the newer models with the silver cans:

Is this right? I can get them for 210 dollars and I wondered if it's a waste of my money and time buying this can.

Thanks

P.s;

If I recall correctly, the same shop has also the one with the silver cans for the same price. But i'm not sure if they had PRO on them (or if it was the 770, but I don't think so)

Pro is older
2005 is a update

changes: (can differ from person, IMO)
Better bass, Pro was floppy
better looks
refined tone

Not really worth the extra money, but good to look into if you want them.

Actually, even Beyer states that the drivers are exactly the same in the Pro and the Premium versions.
So there is absolutely no difference in sound. The build is slightly different though and there is more clamp on the Pro version.
The higher clamping force means that the drivers are slightly closer to the ears so the sound is slightly modified this way, but not by much. Most likely, the other differences in sound that people claim to hear are caused by placebo. Also, it is possible to bend the headband to get less clamp.

IMO, if you don't mind the retro looks, the PRO is a huge bargain since it is often sold for half the price of the premium and has the exact same drivers.
