I know the standard 250 ohm DT-880 pretty much requires an amp, but does anyone here have experience with the new 32 ohm Manufacture version? If no one's actually tried them, do you think they'd work well unamped? Or would it be blasphemy to try to drive a DT-880 of any type without an amp?

iPod 4G can make it sound loud enough
but I'm not sure you guys would be satisfied with its sound quality.
I recommend you to get a portable amp. $150 is enough to get a decent one.

I have 50 Ohm Senns. An amp should improve the sound aaaaa LOT.
Definitely worth $150~

You'll be getting a nice sound out of an Ipod Video and such, but an amp is required.
Be sure not to buy it just for use with Ipod because you can get that sound quality for a lot less.

i love my 880but watch out using a poor amp, i know someone who blew his that way.
