So i got these a week ago on amazon and finally started getting to use them since they where a gift. I am using the 80ohm version and i also have a Fiio A3 amp which definitely makes them louder.  I have been listening to these for a bit now, a few hours and they sound good, until i went here (http://www.audiocheck.net/soundtests_headphones.php) to test them and I noticed that on the low ends of the dynamic range  and quality these headphones have the rattling noise.  Not sure if Iam over powering them or what because if i run the test on my mac without the amp I do not get the rattle.  I listen to dubstep, bass music, hip-hop so low end bass is something I love. Dont know if that will fix after I put some hours on them or not, just needing to know if I should go with something else before the return date passes.  Thanks!

Do you max out (75%-100%) the volume settings on the Mac when you use the FiiO A3?

It helped but we are still getting rattling at the start of the test, if the amp is not turned past 4-5(goes to 9) it does not rattle.  Is that normal? Like I said above I would assume these headphones should be able to withstand this amps output.  Even some of the deeper bass songs I play distort out before max volume is reached and that with begin EQd, again not begin able to put the amp past 5.

Seems more like an issue with the headphone itself. Try contacting Beyerdynamic about it.

Well looks like Iam going to return it and go with some M-100 or JVC HA-sz2000

I would recommend the M100 if you listen to other genres of music in addition to hip/hop.

If you do hip/hop,rap 100% of the time then go SZ2000

Iam starting to lean towards the m-100 due to that reason and they are a little less bulky, about to hit up best buy with this amp and try the v moda out, if they can withstand EPROM without the base distorting out at higher levels them I will order them boys!

The M100's will handle much more of the A3's power than your DT770's. I'm almost certain they are just distorting from the bass impact. The M100's are a certified basshead can, so they can handle some serious juice without distorting.
