Not at all..
I Just can not get the idea of overpriced headphones... it's make me crazy... (headphones? McIntosh?)

Currently I have:
Beyerdynamics DT-150
Sennheiser HD600
Ultrasone Edition 8 Julia
Ultrasone Edition 5 limited... (My friend's pair, I'm using it from time to time)

I can not compare the HD600 and Ultrasone, they are sounds too different..
But I also can not compare the Ultrasone Edition 8 Julia to anything I own... because those are very bad headphones and it cost about 1500$.
I can compare it maybe to a 80$ Marshall Major II, marshall's are better.

What i can do , is to compare the 133 euro DT-150 to 2500-4000$ Ultrasone edition 5 limited. Because I can,  and because they have a very similar signature, the Ultrasones got fake, annoying, colored sound. Are DT-150 better ? I can not say for sure, but a 2500-4500$ for Ultrasone E5 is a bad joke...
But what i can say for sure, the DT-150 are amazing headphones. Hugo is bring them to a very high level.

When I see McIntosh headphone that costs 2000$, but looks like Beyerdynamic and build by Beyrdynamic I can say that McIntosh is completely overpriced,
and can be copared to every BD Tesla model. Why Not ?

The price in this case is just a marketing bul^%&*%, because the 300$ HD600 sounds 10x better then 1500$ Ultrasones Ed.5 ...
So why a new DT-1770 can not sounds better then McIntosh ? It can and it should be.
It must sounds better, DT-1770 has a bigger driver and tesla 2.0 and they both made by Beyerdynamics... :)

I did not say that expensive equipment is bad, not at all, when you pay a money for something truly unique,
You got a unique product that will put smile on you face.
The developers, designers and engineers deserve it, they work hard for it.
A good example for expensive but extraordinary products:
Hugo Chord (my only amp), JH Layla...(on my list), etc...

So these are in production but not for sale yet?!

:frowning2:

Wait a month, all those "running" , "rushing" and "hurrying" , made them build a drivers with bad quality control.

Beyerdynamics!  Please stay focused and build it well! We still love you!

I believe in progress, every new model/technology  is always a hope for discovering a new dimension in the world of headphones, that is the window to the world of music.
I just waited for a replacement for dt770,  and here it is , a new hope!

Juan Virgo, there are tonnes of replacement for DT770(80 Ohm) among headphones of other brands. As for strong mid-tier model in Beyerdynamic line I would consider DT250/250

Before talk about very good headphones , I must admit that best portable supplemental for them currently, is Hugo Chord.
Using it on the go, everywhere, i'm sure i'm getting the best from every phone i use. This device is a must in this category of HF, a state of the art.

I also think there is a tonnes in this price range , but just a few that really catch my eye ...(~500$)
TH600, DT1770, Sony Z7, and maybe a Final PH VI

A real gentlemen....

All of them trying to sell , exactly what I need, a good , strong bass, and warm , good mids +/-...

I want all of them actually :)

p.s.: My "mid-tier model" from BD, is a DT-150, (but with Hugo they bacame a hi-end).

Personally, I would call T1 both version to be bright but clean phones whereas I would consider the DT1770 to be a forward but clean

Very good. After all, it's a pro tool, not another "audiophilic" equalization headphone.
