Your search is over. I am an obvious choice for this important position. Why, you ask? Well just look at this irrefutable evidence... prepare to be mightily impressed.
 1. One aspect of my current professional career involves working at a number of industry tradeshows for my company. I have been doing this for the last 15 years, so am fairly certain I have the process sorted out.
 1. Another aspect revolves around training our sales force to sell the products we manufacture. Disseminating product information in a compelling manner is one of my strong suits.
 1. I have been a headphone nut since the early 70's (original Koss Pro/4AA's, anyone?), and currently don't even have a speaker-based system hooked up. This is one of my great passions, and I'd like to think it shows when I talk about headphone hi-fi with people.
 1. Due to the fact I am flying in from the west coast, I am NOT bringing a large audio rig to show off. I can devote my full attention to the task of manning the Beyerdynamic table, without being distracted wondering who's smearing peanut butter all over my amp at the other table.
 1. Though I do not at this point own a pair, I have had a good amount of listening time with the various Beyerdynamic products currently offered, and can speak intelligently about sound signatures, equipment matching and such.
 1. If anyone gets out of line at the table, I'll cut 'em good. Count on it. Seriously though, I will protect Beyerdynamic's investment well, just without the stabbing I recently alluded to...
 1. Mom says I'm cute as a button.
 1. I WILL wear a pair of clean underwear for a post this lofty. Maybe even some pants.

I anxiously await your decision. The anticipation is killing me already.

I've been looking forward to Head-Fi's first National Meet since it was first announced, because it looked like the opportunity of a lifetime - going to NYC to meet lots of Head-Fiers and vendors? I got excited immediately! I freely admit I'm much more interested in the "meet" aspect of the event, but if given a chance to help man Beyerdynamic's table, I would definitely give it my full attention and effort. Not that I won't be able to mingle with others though, as who wouldn't want to stop by Beyerdynamic's table, right?

I'll admit that being able to receive the 2006 model of the DT880 as compensation is very enticing (having read many positive reviews on it here on Head-Fi) and is partially the reason I am applying for this table, but I am not in this just for a headphone prize. It would give me a chance to acquire some knowledge about Beyerdynamic and its products, and a way to meet more Head-Fiers than I might not otherwise. I have not personally owned a Beyerdynamic product yet, but manning their vendor table would certainly help me to learn more about their products and expertise in the industry, which I have read so much about on Head-Fi. I have seen a lot of praise for their headphones and have been wanting to own at least one of them myself, but so far my financial situation has not allowed me to. When my situation improves though, I will be looking into a Beyerdynamic purchase, likely the first of many, in my continual [Head-Fi-influenced] pursuit of sonic excellence in headphones. There is also the desire to want to hear a variety of headphones and their unique sounds that will compel me to continually buy Beyerdynamic's products, just like any other devoted Head-Fier.

There will be a lot of responsibility and dedication involved in manning a vendor table, but I believe that I will be up to the task. With my work at Webroot Software (www.webroot.com) on its Threat Research team and on PlanetDescent.com, I deal with a variety of responsibilities and obligations on a daily basis, and I expect this to be no different. Also, since two people will be selected to operate the table, teamwork will be just as important to get the job done. Should I be selected, I would be able to get along instantly with the other person (as I have an innate ability to get along with just about anyone) and easily cooperate to make sure everything goes smoothly not just for both of us but the other vendors and attendees as well. I would also maintain a sense of professionalism and courtesy at all times to make sure everyone has a pleasant and positive experience at Head-Fi's first National Meet, to help make it as big a success as possible. And of course I'll keep a watchful eye on Beyerdynamic's equipment to prevent it from being abused and will freely share my amps, spare cables, and sources as available.

I look forward to the National Meet with much anticipation. Having been to nearly ten meets, two of them in the US, I am interested in seeing how this Head-Fi tradition translates into such a large scale. Though it will be my first visit to New York City, I hope that I can keep my tourist tendencies in check when confronted with the mass of audio equipment that awaits. I will be at the meet for the entirety of the two days and, though my time is precious, I think that I can sacrifice four hours for the fine people at Beyerdynamic. I have heard the DT880 headphones driven balanced out of a HeadRoom Max Balanced with a Wadia source and it was one of the few times in this hobby where I felt pure undiluted headphone lust. Though I haven't met many of them in person, I feel that I 'know' many of the folks here on head-fi and could act as a representative for your fine company. Really, you would be doing me a favour as I am sure everyone will stop by your table and I will get to meet people I otherwise may have missed.

Besides, there is something distinctly wrong with my headphone lineup...

Let's see, there is an AKG, there is a Grado, and I have distaste for the high end Sennheisers and Sonys. But no Beyer? A travesty.

It would be an honor to represent Beyerdynamic at Head-Fi's first National Meet. I have owned many Beyerdynamic headphones through the years, everything from the famous DT 48 (which is a modified version of the first DT 48 introduced almost 70 years ago) to the DT 990 PRO as well as many others.

I work as a mechanical engineer and have always appreciated the quality of Beyerdynamic headphones. It is clear that a lot of engineering and design goes into their products, in everything from selection of materials to design for manufacturability. The sound, comfort and durability are always top notch. I have even used Beyerdynamic pads on other manufacturers headphones to improve their comfort and sound quality.

I have built several DIY headphone amps through the years and have a good knowledge of the concepts involved. I can explain the characteristics and applications of different headphones and their intended use.

This would be a great opportunity to get to know Beyerdynamics products in even more detail and at the same time present and discuss them with other Head-Fi members.
I am certain I would do a good job for Beyerdynamic at the first Head-Fi National Meet.

Thank you.

I bring to the Beyer table my well-tuned and educated ears, a long background in music and audiophile pursuits, an open and friendly presence, and an energetic yet responsible approach to presenting the manufacturer's products.

I have owned and enjoyed the Beyer DT250-80, and I’ve had extended use of the DT770 and DT880. It was a pleasure hearing my very eclectic music collection with both phones, through a variety of system configurations in search of good synergies, and I've very much enjoyed relating my experiences to others, personally and in the Headfi forums. .

I had great fun experimenting with the 770s through a variety of portable amps, small home amps, and DACs. I was happy to discover a few small combos that filled the 770 sound space with a well-balanced image of lively and energetic sound, and presented a nicely balanced frequency spectrum -- without losing the punch and power of the renowned big bass sound, while presenting a richly textured, more forward, clearly defined midrange.

Last Fall's NY Metro-area meet provided some exciting auditions of the DT880, especially through Mikhail's Golden Maestro (exciting, detailed and dynamic), and with very sweet results in Machead's setup, via his EarMaxPro [with my duties at Rudi's table I couldn't hear them through more...]. Through the EarMaxPro (a tiny little tubed wonder) it was rich and liquid, and came to life more than I've heard it before. This combo produced a rich, dynamic and musical sound which was quite seductive, with sweet highs and no trace of fatigue. As with any headphones, synergy is key (directed by personal preferences).

It would my great pleasure to present the Beyer phones with experience and enthusiasm, and engage fellow headfiers in sharing experiences, impressions and general conversation about Beyer's fine line of audiophile headphones.

With the highest regard,
Peter (Romanee)

The Beyerdynamic collection will not be completed without the headphile modded Darth Beyer. MUAHAHAHAHA.... The dt770 like Anakin succumbed to the power of the the dark side and was forced into this transformation that gives it unlimited power of the dark ( bass ) side. No can will be spared of the awesome might of Darth Beyer!

Beyerdynamic was the brand I chose as my entry into high-end headphones just over four years ago, with model DT250-80. A year went by, and these phones passed from my hands into my sister’s, where (I assume) they are being treated with the tender loving care that they deserve. Meanwhile, I had acquired for myself another pair of Beyerdynamic, the highly regarded but now-discontinued DT531. These also came and went, along with ownership of the relatively new DT660, and opportunities to listen to the DT770 and the old model DT880. Having owned or listened to these headphones, it is my opinion that the Beyerdynamic line offers a very solid option for headphone enthusiasts from low to high end, but is perhaps underrepresented at Head-fi. This upcoming National Meet will certainly be a wonderful opportunity to turn things around and disseminate more information about the company, and I will be honored to be chosen as one responsible for such a role.

What, then, would make me a good candidate for manning your table at the National Meet? Firstly, since I am not bringing huge bags full of gear to this meet, I will not be distracted by concern for my own equipment. Secondly, I have in mind only a select few pieces of gear that I would like to audition at the meet, leaving ample time left over to either wander around and socialize, or even better, to man the table of a respected vendor. Thirdly, I have had experience with a decent number and variety of Beyerdynamic headphones, as listed previously. Last but not least, I believe I have the qualifications necessary to perform such a task.

I do not own an engineering or audiophile degree (if such exists), and have no extensive technical knowledge about the inner workings of Beyerdynamic products. Neither would I be willing to actively “chat up” meet attendees in order to increase sales of your products, as I believe this would go against the spirit of the meet. What I do have is professional enthusiasm and courtesy, sufficient knowledge of the Beyerdynamic line to quickly select a headphone from a pile given the model number or certain requirements (such as comfort, isolation, or sound quality), and responsibility to do my job and make sure that everyone who comes to the table will leave satisfied. If these seem like qualities you are looking for to represent you at the Meet, then I am the man for you. And of course, the chance to welcome the new flagship of Beyerdynamic’s headphone lineup into my rig is an opportunity not to be missed!

...and the winners are (drum roll please)-

ASR and Romanee

If for any reason one or both of you need to drop out of this huge responsibility, then BRBJackson is first runner-up and kyrie is second.
Congratulations dudes.
