Hello,
After searching through all the Internet and reading reviews, I finally bought Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 32Ohm headphones. I am using them on my Nexus 5 Android phone, and I am confused as this is my first Audiophile headphones, that I couldn't make any difference.
I mean, I just don't feel the difference from other headphones.
Am I doing something wrong?
I am using PowerAMP music app (its paid app and not cracked or something), can someone post the equalizer settings or something please?
I am very much confused and don't know if I am doing something wrong or what.

Hey:

1- Leave the EQ Flat
2- Be sure there's no low or high frequency cut off in your android player (you need 20Hz to 20000Hz reproduction)
3- Get quality files

Quality headphones shine with quality recordings

Poor File + Quality Headphone = Poor sound

Ok, I have set my EQ to Flat, but how to know if there is any cut off?
I am currently listening to Ed Sheeran 44.1Khz 832Kbps FLAC.
If this is not the correct song to try, would you please recommend me some song where I can hear the best?

Do you have a graphic or a parametric equalizer?

Check these samples (44.1/16 is just fine):

Tundra is very nice.

If you don't hear any significant difference, then count your blessings that you haven't succumbed to the curse of the audiophile. Buy gear according to functionality and convenience. Be happy with what you have, and run away before this place strangles your wallet.

I'm totally serious here.

Thanks for the advice.
But there has to be something. These should sound something different at least? As this is my first Audiophile headphones, I should be able to feel the difference easily, but I don't. Is there any app problem? I am using poweramp for Android. I am confused and can't make difference between normal ear buds and these. I am sure, I am doing something wrong here.
These so costly headphones should show me something out of the box.

They *should* sound different... more bass at least. Do you have any other device you can try the headphones on? Even plugging into a tv or a receiver should do.

I have tried on iPhone, but couldn't make any difference either. Will try on macbook. But this is all so weird. Audiophile headphones sounds like so much like a normal headphone. I am very disappointed.

So you're comparing these to stock apple earbuds and don't hear any difference at all? Even without an amp, there should be a drastic difference in the sound signatures. I can only conclude that either something is wrong with the headphones, or you simply do not know what to listen for.

There is no drastic difference to be honest. Headphone box came all packed and sealed.
I have used a lot of gaming headset and I used to listen music on those.
Recommend me some tracks or music or bunch of Artist which I can feel the difference. I'll swap and listen them.
And do you think poweramp is enough for Android listening?
The main reason of me buying 32Ohm is just because of the portability.

There's no point in me recommending music. It's best to listen to music/sounds that you are famiiliar with.

If you don't hear the difference between the DT770 and gaming headsets, that's fine. Like I said earlier, the audiophile game is a terrible soul and wallet draining game where you end up chasing placebos and infinitesimally smaller improvements. Be happy with what you have, sell the DT770 and spend the money on music and discretionary recreational products.

I have no experience with poweramp, but it's just a player correct? It shouldn't have that much bearing on the sound within the scope that you're looking at.

The Beyer headphones typically want amping behind them, but I highly doubt that even with an amp it will suddenly sound better to you. You could possibly try a different headphone; just pick something off the innerfidelity wall of fame: http://www.innerfidelity.com/content/innerfidelitys-wall-fame-full-size-sealed#TQS3OZOD1G52oOkM.97
Beyers are easy to trade, so you can try posting it up on the sale forums and see what people offer.

Trading and buying one of the headphones which you recommended is a kind of hectic process.
Yes, poweramp is just a app.
The only reason I bought this because I thought this will be good for portability. The one that you recommended, will require amp I guess.
Because of my low kind of budget, I bought these.
And do try to atleast recommend me a track which I can feel the difference. Just a single track.
