Hi guys,

I was going to order a pair of akg velour pads for my 271s. But Frank scares the hell out of me

So as an alternative, I'm looking for some feedback from people who are using beyer velour pad on their akg 271s cans.

How do they compare (sound wise and comfort wise) with akg's own velour pad?

Are you using dt770 pad? dt880?

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

I am using the Beyer velours pads (they are all the same size) on my K240 and find them an improvement on the original pads. Both in comfort and in sound quality. They fit better around my ears and isolate better, thus (slightly) improving bass respons.

I have tried DT880 pads once and it was plain AWFUL. Never heard K271S sounding so bad, they like have lost the very last hint of low frequencies and become horribly thin. Stick with AKG velour pads if you could, if not, stock pleather is tons better than Beyer's velour.
