.....sounds better to me than out of the 120 ohm socket of the Corda HA-1. The sound is more lively to my ears, more coherent, only ever so slightly brighter, and subjectively to me, just as much / more bass than out of the 120 ohm socket.

Given that I saw some freq responses from another dude a little while ago, I was not expecting what I heard. I was expecting them to sound very thin out of the 0 ohm adapter, but they just dont seem to, to my ears. I dont find it too bright either. I believe the dude who published the responses preferred them out of the 0 ohm socket too.

So, its left me wondering whether the benefit of the 120 ohm jack with the DT931's is overstated, and more a matter of preference. In terms of musicality, the 0 ohm socket sounds far superior to my ears.

PS. I also am not sure whether the DT931's really need crossfeed either, as they dont seem to sound particularly fatiguing or as "inside the head" as I thought they might without it.

PPS. The Corda is still a very nice amp to use with the DT931's despite this IMO.

im one who preaches 120ohm for the dt931 and for me, its not overstated, its mandatory.

it's certainly brighter at 0ohm and i wouldnt call it more lively either. At 120ohm the birghtness is reduced and the phone becomes a much more balanced and a more controlled phone.

I guess when it comes to audio, everything is subjective and there is no right or wrong.

just be happy youre able to know what you like.

Actually, after a bit more listening I cant make up my mind which I prefer. Trying again on some different music, the 120 ohm definetly offers more bass, and less treble. GRRRRR
