Well I think the title sums it up nicely. I will be using the headphones for DJ mixing. I am coming from Sony 7506's and also have Sony 7509's.

I want something different and an upgrade to what I presently have. Not to sure if the Rolands have enough bass kick for my purpose but they seem very similar to the 7506's.

Thanks.

You may not want bass heavy cans like the DT770 for mixing, you'll hear the bass heavier than everyone else and it will come out sounding weak.

Maybe but my 7506's are not defined enough in the low end at least for me. I want something of an upgrade to my 7506's which has more low end (boomy) and not as harsh high's. Basically like my 7509's with even better sound and build if possible.

The Roland RH-300's seem to be better spec/build wise but there is not that much info on them at the moment.

The Beyer 770 80 OHM have a good track record but I would like to see someone reply who has actually used them for DJ mixing.

The Rolands are extremely flat in comparison with the 7506's and DT770's , well according to this Japanese tests.
It seems the DT770's are exactly what you need: more bass and less treble.
