I need someone who has experimented with amps for Markl Denon D5000. What's the best value among diy amps? Would something under 500$ be enough to make them shine?

I doubt that. It is very low impedance.... I hear that some tube amps deal with this fine but a lot of them don't.

I was thinking about a M^3 or Lisa III. The Lisa would be nice as it would serve also as transportable, but I don't know it it's enough to make the D5000 shine. I need feedback.

I tried a lisa for about 5/10 minutes when a friend was over with his setup and it drove my d5000s pretty nicely but it's a pretty colored amp; warm and tube-y, not my thing. With the active ground it seems to put out plenty of juice.

To be honest I can barely hear a difference between balanced and SE using the GS-X with my markl mod d5000 and I'd think the active ground is probably enough drive in most cases. What's your source going to be? It better be very detailed to do these phones justice.

I'll leave the recommendations to the more experienced people. Just giving you my two cents. I haven't yet heard the M^3.

Source would be Sonicap iMod to start with, and an upgrade in 4-6 months.
