I'm looking for a small top quality usb powered dac + headphones amp with gain at least 10 or customizable when ordering the gear.
This is to give food to my hungry headphones.

Odac combo would have been a good choice if it had usb powering.
I hate dealing  with adapters.
Any idea?

SoundMagic HP100 (see my avatar).
They are not very efficient, and more I listen only classical music that, due to its dynamics, is generally low registered.
So standard audio gear is insufficient to pump up the volume to satisfactory levels.

My price range is around 300$
The SoundMagic HP100 are 32 ohm but are still inefficient for classical.
I looked at the Fostex HP-A3, but no mention about the gain.
The Maverick is not usb powered.
Regarding the Fiio Andes it says 12 dB gain that correspond to a gain of 4: 20*log4=12 dB.
I need at least 20 dB, that correspond to a gain of 10, or more.
Even the Audio-GD 11.32 I have at high gain setting has a gain of 4, that is insufficient.

Quite unlikely your headphones will need that much gain, if you are concerned about headroom, you dont need over 120db much less be able to tell 115db to 120+ db, isn't that headphone made for the probable market?
