I have a really nice setup at home and I'm thinking about upgrading my digital source since its by far the cheapest and least performing component. Can you guys recommend some upsampling CDPs?

I know of Wadia, but that's out of my league. I listened to an Arcam and MF A3.2. I would like a solid-state source, no tubes please.

Thanks!

Get a used Cary 306/200. This CDP has the best upsampling I've heard. If you change your mind about tubes get one of the Shanlings.

If you don't mind buying used, Wadia is well within reach. 830s go for around $1500 depending on options, 301s go for low $2000s, and you may find an 860 for just a touch over $3000. There are also older units like the 6, 16, 21, etc that can be found in this price range that still outperform the majority of players available today. The players are also very upgradeable. For instance you can upgrade a 1997 Wadia 860 to the current 861 for $2000.
