Best Turntable for Under $350

Well, if you prefered a new one, I'd throw in a recommendation for the Dual CS505-4 (http://www.phonophono.de/english/html/dual_cs505.html). Of course, US$ 350 will buy you more on the used market - but I'm not too sure, whether I'd recommend that for a vinyl newcomer, as the lack of experience might make it difficult for you to spot otherwise obvious flaws or to deal with possibly neccessary maintainance and adjustments et cetera...

Hajime: What?!? Really? They must be silly - it's never worth that price. But maybe one can also order it directly from Phonophono...

Lini,

I think it's silly too. At that price there are Rega, Linn and VPI tables. Here's one of the most popular places that sells Dual tables in the US.

Csalata,

I'm looking for a table in your price range too. I'd keep an eye out for used Thorens that are in good shape.

Wow, $999 USD for a Dual CS505. Incredible. It would be cheaper to order it from Germany and pay for FedEx overnight shipping and still come out at half that price.

I picked up a used Goldring GR-1 for under $350 on audiogon. It is pretty much the same table as a Rega P2. I see mmf 5's used for under $350 on occasion. Keep checking audiogon.

I picked up a mint Thorens TD126 MK3 with arm and cartridge for $299. It sounds very good and looks great. Research and patients will pay off. Although I've not heard them, Regas and Music Hall tables seem popular and used can be an excellent deal.
