Hi, I'll buy a dac amp dongle for smartphone, and I would like to buy a high end Totl headphone for it, which is better? Need a high sensivity headphone.
No phone dongle will get the most out of a totl headphone. You'd be wasted your money. That's not to say it won't sound good though. Pick a budget, then look at the available headphones in that bracket and read up on which will suit your individual listening expectations.
To really get results, the Topping G5 is needed for top flight headphones on most models. I've got the Dan Clark Stealth and they sound just as good on the G5 as the A70Pro. Theres some I've had like the Audio Technica ADH-1000X that you can power with a flashlight. The 3000x just came out and if the sensitivity is similar they might fit the bill for a dongle. I tried a few dongles and the Tanchjim Space sounded good on balanced, but with full size headphones I could watch the battery meter ticking down.
Just a fan of the G5 since on medium gain it lasts 6.5hrs with full size headphones.
I agree it might be a bit underwhelming to pair a TOTL headphone with a dongle DAC/amp BUT if you are set on your path Kennerton's planars (and dynamics for that matter) tend to be higher sensitivity.
