What tips would you experts recommend for a weller WTCPS? What temperature? How thing? Spade tip? I'm mostly going to be doing audio stuff... a cmoy first then maybe an alienDAC. I'm using wonder solder at the moment.

Thanks in advance!

1/32" Long Conical 800F for what you've mentioned + wider (1/8"+) screwdriver if you need more power. IMHO, most of the components are tolerant to 800F, but you might get 700F tip just in case, not as a primary tip; sharp 700F conical could be a pain if you have to fight a ground plane for example

Hi,

I use 700F screw-driver-like tip. I don't have problems mentioned.

I think pencil tip stinks. You have to get ones with flatter surface so that surface can make a good physical contact with soldering area. I learned this trick at an Expo.

I also prefer a narrow screwdriver tip. I tried the cone, but heat transfer is more of an issue, and I had to crank the heat to get a fast joint.

The small screwdriver tip heats the joint fast, even at a lower temp. For the times when I solder SMD, I just turn it 90 degrees and solder off the edge. It's just as narrow as a conical tip then.
