Personally, I absolutely love my Sony EX800st. They compliment my Etymotics well in that they have a larger stage and a more “fun” signature. I’m very happy with having these as my constant standbys for the last 2-years.

T800 or Blessing 2

  • Sony EX1000 if you are lucky enough to find a pair in good condition for less than $300
    Neutral with good bass extension
+ Excellent dynamics, clarity, detail, open and wide soundstage, one of the best bass responses (neutral, dynamic, textured, powerful and bottomless), smooth
    - awkward shape and fit, bad isolation, treble spike sounds harsh with some recordings, needs good source and power
  • JVC FD01 (modded), FDX1 (comes with mod) or FD02 (modded + cable change)
Neutralish with slight sub bass boost and lean mid bass/lower mids, smooth, liquid and extended treble
+ smooth and engaging sound that works for everything. Excellent timbre. It puts music first, everything else second. Built like a tank (FD02). Good isolation (small vent)
    - I have IEMs that have better resolution, bigger soundstage with better positioning, more textured bass, more detail etc. but I still use the modded FD02 more than my others because it is such an engaging and comfortable IEM for me that I dream away with it
I would like to hear the T800 or Blessing 2 though.
I'd expect the B2 to be technically superior, but I am also curious about the T800, especially because of the mixed feedback.

Saw your post in the Moondrop thread - do you actually own these 2?
I own the t800 and iam familiar whit the moondrop tuning and build quality. I am about to get the bl2 after this shity time

T800 is a beast when you are not treble sensitive.

$300 is a place in the market which is not really full? My choices after hearing a few would have to be the BGVP DM6 for $199, and the old 2014 flagship Sony XBA-Z5 for $399.

Though the Sony would need an aftermarket cable and some power from a DAP, not anything special from a phone.

The dm6 has qc issues

The dm6 has qc issues

That’s a great point. I was going to mention that. Though my pairs are fine. There seem to be used pairs that are “OK” showing up every week that are quality in the used section; normally $150. Though yes, DM7 had those connector issues. And there was different ideas about how they were supposed to sound, which the question was “Are they supposed to sound like this or is it a QC issue?”

Still if you find a nice used pair, your getting a $600 IEM for $150.

Actually my dm6 connector was loose and starter to vibrate on loud bass on the left side

But yes it is actually a very good sounding iem tuning is like the andromenda

I would love to keep but unfortunaly i had to gave them back after 1 month of discussions whit bgvp
