Is there a general consensus on the best sounding earbud (non-IEM) available today? I'm talking real earbuds (used for biking); not something like the KSC-75. I know they all generally suck, but what's the best available?

Price irrelevant, but portability/convenience of ultimate importance (so forget the stax

). Ideally closer to Grado signature.

CM7's and e888's are both considered probably the best earbuds out there...not sure how they compare to one another but the modded 888's do sound pretty good

Um no, the E888 are good for the price but for $50 they feel extremely plasticky and very cheap, even the EX71s I had felt like they were higher quality, they just can't compete with the CM7s sound nor the aluminum/titanium's durability and elegance, they are of course double the price though.
