best SS amp for AKG K240S?

What would be a good amp match w/ the AKG K240S (55 ohm version)? I've got a headroom home on the way today, and I'm hoping it would be a good pairing.

What kind of budget are you on? I think a PPA or even Gimore Lite would pair well with these.

I can grab a new set of the K240S for $69.99 so I may jump on that and see how it pairs with the Headroom Home amp that just arrived here at work...

I used to listen to mine on a maxed out Pimeta. It sounded quite nice.

The best I ever heard them was from my previous Gilmore V1, so I'd imagine the Lite would be a great match as well.

Also: the best amp for the K240S would be SS anyway. They don't need any more warmth or coloration from tubes, IMO.

Tell you guys what-- I'll buy a pair tonight, and try them w/ my newly acquired Headroom Home. If I don't like the combo, then I can sell the K240S to one of you, just add in shipping cost, cool?

That's good to know. I didn't get a chance to pick a pair up last night, but should hopefully be able to this weekend. I forgot you were in the UK... as long as you're cool w/ paying the shipping cost and paypal fees (paypal fees would only be about $3), then that would allow me to try the AKG's out and hopefully help you out in the process.

No problem - as long as they absoloutely look new (other half has issues with 2nd hand gear - even though they'd be new to all intents and purposes) i'd be happy to relieve you of them buddy. We'll discuss shipping etc if/when the time comes
