I'm looking to spend around 50 dollars on a pair of earbuds for use with my Slim X, what is the best I can do?

Thanks,
Josh

for 50$ you should forget earbuds. I'd highly recommend you try koss portapros. They are on sale at the koss web site if you use a coupon code. Visit http://www.headwize.com for details

If you really want earbuds the Sennheiser MX500's are your best choice. They only cost $20 and sound pretty good!

I second that. For earbuds, if it's not the etys (not exactly earbuds but o well), then it's gotta be the mx500s.

How do they sound compared to the Sony 888s and Nude Ex earbuds?

Thanks,
Josh

I own both of them (the 888s and the Nude Ex, in the form of the MDR-EX70LP). Neither model is worth its high price, IMHO. The 888s are barely any better than most of the better-performing cheap earbuds. Heck, right now I'd rather listen to the cheap $10 828s than the $80 888s. As for the U.S.-market version of the Nude EX's... Where are the mids?
