I just wish vivo will allow me to use the hifi mode for any app I want to

By the way boss.

The adapter used to activate the high gain on smartphones, do they have to be trrs? Or will it be fine with trs?
I am asking because I am writing with Trevor from norneaudio.

The HTC A9 has a very similar sound output compared to the 10 in the headphone jack.
it also has a dedicated amp section.

not a big fan of the new U11 though it seems they dropped all of that, even if the audio scores with the dongle are good.

Thanks for your answer. I guess I need two adapters.
I just started playing with the aune m1s, if I want to use the balanced output of the dap with my M100, am I correct thinking that I Need 2,5 mm trrs to 3,5mm trs?

3.5 mm trs to 3.5 mm trs for the xplay6.
2,5mm trrs to 3,5mm trs for the aune m1s.

2,5mm trrs to 3,5mm trs for the aune m1s.

If you want to play with balanced. Firstly, you need to reterminate your IEM's cable with 2.5 trrs plug.

Then if you want to use with xplay6, you just order 2.5 trrs female to 3.5 trs male.

But as I know, m100 comes with non-attachable cable w/ mic and volume control, right? That is gonna be sacrifice that feature if you modified the plug...

But you cannot order 2.5 trrs male to 3.5 trs female by any means to use m100 with aune m1s balanced dap.

Single end male to single end female = ✓
Single end male to balanced female = ✓
Balanced male to balanced female = ✓
Balanced male to single end female = ×

I already have 2 balanced cables from penonaudio.com to play with the aune m1s and my Lz a4.

The stock cable on my M100 has replaced, and the new one is without mic. I actually don't use the mic so it doesn't really matter to me.

So I guess this is what I need:
Single end male to single end female = to use with the xplay6 and my unbalanced iems, headphones
Single end male to balanced female =
To use with the xplay6 and the balanced cables.
Correct?

Thanks for the list. Now I have references when it's time for an upgrade. I'm currently using an Asus Zenfone 2 Laser. Unknown DAC, but sound quality is decent with my Sennheiser Momentum IEM. Meizu PRO 5 and LG V20 are my top picks based on the sound quality on the table. Not sure if I should update my phone first or IEM.

Probably both. LOL

So Meizu Pro 5 is better than HTC 10, although they're both warm sounding? Which is better as a phone (no lags, no technical issues, camera etc.)

VERY nick work on the phone thread refresh! Big thanks to Artpiggo and anybody else that helped.
I think I will be upgrading my phone this fall, so I will get back into checking this thread regularly.

Htc10. Speaking from experience sounds great and the phone is very stable unrooted
HTC10 is slightly superior on paper (higher resolution for example), but Meizu Pro 5 is no slouch either, the Enyxos is very fast and yields MUCH lower consumption than the HTC10 (also helped by the full HD amoled screen).
Also the Meizu comes with no crappy commercial apps and no Google apps beside the Playstore, so it runs on VERY low memory.

Personnaly I preferred the Meizu (especially since I don't need quad-HD for VR).
