What app is that officialy called. Not neutron player As I need to use uapp in hi res direct mode lol.

I mean.. once you play uapp with hires setting and want to ensure it get native sampling rate, you can easily test by using neutron app, go to audio hardware and see if the sample rate is follow your song frequency or not.

Anyone tried the Huawei p20 pro or Sony xz2 premium? Those phones have awesome cameras but little was mentioned about their sound signatures. Went to local electronic shop and was told the agent only provided the handset and there wasn't any usb-c to 3.5mm converter to spare me:confused:

Surprisingly Xiaomi Mi Mix sounds pretty good to me. Guess there is any solid DAC inside though it's not mentioned anywhere. Now I am going to sell my AK240 (which I got for Tidal only). With Mi Mix I think I'll be fine and will use another player for "real hi fi" flacs )

As for Huawei, I really doubt they'd use any hi fi components inside. But may be it'd be good to try Cozoy Trakt Pro with it? This is what I am going to do as I was really impressed a lot by Google Pixel 2 photo wise (and DXOMark thinks Huawei is even better) ))

Honor 10

"It does have a 3.5mm headphone jack, unlike the Huawei P20, which is a major plus. There is also a dedicated AK4376A audio processor that can output 7.1 sound via the headphone jack."

https://www.xda-developers.com/honor-10-china-specifications-features/

Is this the same DAC as Axon 7?

Any phone using SoC built in DAC (Aqstic) which have better SQ than HTC 10? There should be at least one model after these few years.

Yes it is same dac as axon7. btw, it is the first time huawei coming to audio oriented route. so still in doubt in their quality. need to experience it prior to confirm.

Why do you wonder on SoC built in DAC (Aqstic) phone while there are many smartphone that excel in audio like vivo xp6 and lg v30 etc.

Trying to find a phone for wife, she said most of the audiophile grade phones I recommended are with small batteries, which is quite true. She is using Xiaomi Mi Max 2, 5300mAh!

Maybe phones with good Aqstic implementation will be bigger batteries? 4000mAh or above?

Lg v30 plus. despite it is just 3300 mah, its software is controlling battery drain very excellent. Don't just watch on numbers but see real use  you can go ask in lg v30 thread as well about battery life.

Otherwise, buy her a decent bluetooth dac/amp like shanling m0 or audio technica at-pha55bt.

Well after quite sometime i have bought Beyerdynamic Dt 880 edition 250ohms.
And also Xduoo-xd05.
Also i tested it comparing with LG G6 quad dac version.
Now i know why audiophile don't appreciate phone quality.
I blind tested it on my brother who is not an audio enthusiast and even he get so much appreciable of the difference of sound quality.

In short none of the current Mobile phones can replace a good external dac amp or a DAP.

If you guys are planning for superior audio quality plus portability , invest in something like Hiby R3 or Shaling M2S upwards. Or you can use external dac amp like Xduoo-xd05.
