what is the best price to get these brand new ive seen a few on ebay for 138.99 shipped but not sure if they are legit...i would get the m50 from brianf on ebay but if i could get the shure840 for a little more then i would buy them (mostly because of the detachable cable)
 
any websites i should check im trying to get them brand new for 150 or less

You can always double-check with Shure if you doubt a seller is an authorized dealer.

Wow, I checked on Amazon and I can't believe how nobody is selling them for under $199.00 and there is a ton of listings. I haven't even seen one website selling them for under $199.99. Strange! I paid around $135 as an Open Box deal from B&H I believe. The best you can do is risk buying on Ebay or wait for someone to sell a used pair on Amazon I guess. I guess they must be popular! If you can't find the 840s for cheap, maybe try the 750DJ, but they're not even close to being as good to me. Some people prefer them to the 840's though.

Might want to try www.jr.com  you'd have to call them and do a phone order. It says call for lower price.
But people have said they got them for $129 and $139 before from them. Might be a little more now or the same.
