Just curious on some of your findings. I'm thinking of picking up a pair of these to go along with my new flat pads (soon)!

Sorta like buying a house to go with my new doorknob...

I've seen them used from a low 400 to as high as 600 and not dependent on condition.

New, I've only seen them at two online stores, Headroom and Todd's, for 695. Haven't spent much time looking for new though.

I was thinking of getting a pair also. Does anyone know if HCM is an honest dealer? I'm a little worried these might be refurbs or something.

I once bought a Creek 4330R Integrated amp from HCM. It was awhile back, but no problems and friendly people to deal with.

Yeah, I heard they stopped shipping the RS-1's with the wood box. What??? For the price, you deserve to have a really cool fancy wooden box!

I've been looking at Grado's on this site:

Is this a good dealer? They have decent prices!

I have my problems with AA in the past.....I bought a Marantz preamp from them that they were advertising that it came with the highly regarded programmable remote, the RC2000. After receiving the preamp without that specific remote, they claimed that it was a misprint and that I could return the preamp if I wasn't happy with it. I asked them to change the ad so that other buyers wouldn't fall into the same problem as me and I kept calling them after their next few catalogs still contained the same misprint. They finally changed it and took me off of their mailing list so I would stop calling them.

Yeah, that sure is one heck of a nice pic, you have to admit!

They have other similar "updated" pics of the other grados here:

Also, what the heck are the "demo" versions of some of the Grado's found on the site? They're a little bit cheaper (probably not worth it then).

I've seen them listed for $625 but they were "Dealer Demo's". Anyone check to see it Todd The Vinyl Junkie stocked them. He's got 10% off of stocked headphones on his home page?

I sold my pair and have regretted it ever since.
