Just was wondering what the best place to buy either of these is.
I am trying as hard as I can to get a pair of L3000's (maybe the last!), it's a good chance I'll get one (I hope..)
I'm thinking if I do, then maybe to pair it with an Earmax amp or something else. The pro is a little more affordable than the AE after an expensive purchase like the L3000 (which is way over my head anyways!)
I want an amp to really bring the sound alive and tighten up and deliver the bass, I want speed and clarity with more punch and impact, while still retaining a sense of being laid-back and not to overpowered, and just smoothly delivering whatever comes along. I want an amp that will really bring out the stronger points of the headphone, not just make it sound more natural with instruments, but colour all aspects of the performance to make it sound very musical. I listen to electronic based types of music, not to much with vocalists (some samples), and not to much with natural instruments or live recordings. Imaging is important though as some of the sounds are so vivid I want to hear every part of them. I listen to a lot of my music through vinyl, soon I might be getting a Rega 3 turntable, and I can't wait to listen through that.
If anybody has some good recomendations of amps that might be good for me please let me know, my budget wouldn't be any more than $1000 US for the amp, max.
Thanks for looking!
