Hey everyone,

I'm planning on buying a pair of HeadDirect RE0's soon, but am not entirely sold on the canalphone concept yet... (as I've never used them before)

Are there any more traditional headphones out there in the same price range that would rival the RE0 for sound quality and portability?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, I don't know much about this sort of stuff.

by traditional do you mean earbuds? the kind that does not go into your ear canals?

i think there is a large following here on head-fi that thinks Yuin PK3s (also carried by head-direct) are really the default bang-for-your-buck traditional earbuds.

Canalphones wise @ the RE0 price range you're really spoilt for choice.

Read more about comfort and isolation if u're getting canalphones for the first time. so that you know what's in store for you. some people don't really like the invasive feeling.

I guess you could get the Yuin PK1 for $159. They are earphones so they dont go into your ears.

For the time being, my vote goes to the Victor FX500. I prefer them to my Sennheiser IE8's.

I second Yuins as the best earbuds I've heard. You really can't go wrong with the PK1. I haven't heard the RE0 though, so can't comment about the comparison there.
