Best portable amps needed for magazine review

Larocco PR II
RSA Tomahawk
RSA Hornet
Xin Supermicro/Supermini/Supermacro IV
Headamp AE2
Xenos 1HA-EPC
Headphonia

Those are off the top of my head based on what I've read most about, considering money is a non-issue.

The top 3 are the same ones I listed in the other thread, and I did not list others cause they were not 'price no object'

There are some that say Xin's sound is better than that of RSA, et cetera. Wanted to include that possibility.

Not so expensive amps but supposed to be very good.

The OP is looking for "cost-no-object" - read as "expensive" - portable amps, preferably easily gotten in the UK. At least, that's what I've deduced from reading the OP's threads.

It would seem that if one recommended a superb-sounding portable amp, but that amp was moderately priced (by "cost-no-object" standards) then it would fall below his bar for consideration. He's already stated that the RSA Hornet and Tomahawk weren't sexy enough for inclusion (my words):

The PRII looks very intriguing. Have you heard it? Is it definitely up-up-upscale? $479 is cheaper than some!

wow, i definitely wouldn't buy a magazine that excludes the Ray Samuels products because they aren't expensive enough. the SR-71 is top-notch. and i doubt you'd be able to get a PRII in time for review unless you contacted LaRocco audio personally, they have horrible customer service and take forever to ship anything.

the PRII, SR71, and RudiStor NKK-01SE are at the top of the ladder, i reckon. and i don't think recommending a product that no one has even heard (Graham Slee Voyager) is a good plan.. i know that it's cost no object, but the SR71 is a venerable giant killer.

edit:

then again, i have no idea when you're doing this review. i guess having the main amplifier by the RudiStor NKK-01se would be a good idea, but still mention the smaller, almost-as-good amplifiers. hell, maybe even namedrop RedWineAudio's iMod. really improves the sonics of an iPod to a quality source.

The Voyager might not be ready until summer, and it's definitely not expensive enough at about £150 (at this point), though it is local for the UK, and may sound wonderful when it's released. Still, no diamond-studded rhodium-plated knobs.

I think what Nick needs is a few of those diamond studded/encrusted $38,000-to-$100,000 cellphone/mp3 players for his cost-no-object article.

For a mere $25,000 (USD) there's the TrekStor 18ct Gold + 63 x 1ct diamonds 2GB mp3 player (can't see any diamonds in this pic):

…and of course, the $1.2 million 18ct White Gold cell phone/mp3/cam encrusted with 120cts of diamonds:

Can't find any reference to their SQ.

Not my taste, that one. I'd probably go for something like black coral with black opal and watermelon tourmaline marquetry (or vice versa), in patterns of my own design.

BTW - Rudi's portable is lovely to behold and sounds nice, but I think you'll find it's largely a matter of personal preference as to whether or not it's better than it's smaller US kin.
