I am currious where the best place to purchase an Ipod battery. Firend asked me to look at his ipod and I am not sure if the battery is the only problem as I can't even turn the ipod on.
If iPod more than 2 yrs old then battery definitely is an issue. U may want to ask your friend if he notice last time he used, whether notice battery was draining faster than it used to.
If u don't want to deal with it, don't know your amps from lion, then go Apple.
Us DIYer, am sure not afraid of generics (lots cheaper) from eBay. Ur doing it for a "friend" though, yer reputation is on the line.

What gen ipod? I have a couple used batteries that still work. PM me if you just want one to try, and I'll only charge you a few buck if you decide to keep it.
i bought a 1200mah battery for 99 cents plus shipping (which was like 5 bucks i think) on ebay. used the kit that came with the battery. it was very easy.
for a buck, it might not be the same as other 1200mah batteries but i think it's worth it. my ipod lasts a lot longer than before.
