Hey everyone, I'm looking for an open back headphone that focuses more on mids rather than bass. Also, I'd like them too have a nice natural sound and I'm willing to stretch my budget a bit. I've been analyzing the Beyerdynamic DT-990-Pro-250 and they seem to be pretty good for the buck. Any suggestions? I really appreciate any feedback from the community.

Have you heard the Grado SR series?

Are they really that good? I'd definitely buy a pair if they're better than HD800's. The amazon reviews say that they're fragile, is that true?

They are better value-wise, HD800 is still better SQ-wise.
They are not fragile, unless you actively abuse them.

  Hey BenF,
The ATH-AD900X really caught my interest, so I'll go with these! Thank you very much everyone!

I own the ATH-A900X closed version and I've been tempted myself to also get the ATH-AD900X open headphones.
What sources are you plugging the headphones into?

I don't own an amp yet, I was planning on buying both the headphones and the amp at once so I'm not entirely sure on which amp to buy.

Is this for a PC or receiver or portable audio device or other?
