Is the AD8620 the best opamp for the Pimeta? I myself use the AD8610! Is the AD8620 an aprovement over the AD8610?

I don't think it's a very good op-amp for audio in general; I never quite understood how it came to be popular versus the variety of very well performing op-amps AD produces. Maybe it's just that it was marketed side-by-side to the OPA627 and so got attention. The best FET-input op-amp around is probably the OPA655; I can't think of anything better at the moment, but they're a tremendous pain to acquire. The OPA656 is pretty easy to acquire and cheap, but not as good, though still I'd imagine considerably better than the common alternatives *shrug* |
