Porcupine Tree seems to be getting a lot of votes - glad I'm not alone in thinking that Fear of a Blank Planet is an awesome record.

I'm surprised that made a list. That one has been slammed pretty hard. I'm with you though. Every year some big over the top rock album is one of my faves. "A Weekend..." would be 07's "Black Holes and Revelations" for me.

My favorites so far:

Bloc Party - "A Weekend in the City"
Deerhoof - "Friend Opportunity"
Jesu - "Conqueror"
Menomena - "Friend & Foe"
Nine Inch Nails - "Year Zero"

That well regarded Battles disc might make it later, but so far 07 has been kind of a drag for me. Many of my favorite artists have released so so works, and I've yet to hear an album that I feel is truly great.

Not a rock album like some of these others, but I've really been enjoying the new soundtrack for Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End! Hans Zimmer really did a great job with this one!

BRMC - Baby 81 (black rebel motorcycle club return to original sound of stellar debut)
NIN - Year Zero (not his best but stands out in this music wasteland of today)
TON - Dead Again (type o neg return to winning form)
Moonsorrow - V Havitetty (consistently excellent dark metal)

Intersted in hearing new Neurosis, just picked up new Marilyn Manson........also new White Stripes soon

I really like "A weekend in the city" and I absolutely loved "Black Holes...". I prefer Bloc Party's debut, but "Weekend" is great driving music

I bought "Memory Almost Full" by Paul McCartney the other day with mixed expectations. Lets just say I have been very, very impressed so far. IMO it stands right up there with his best solo work!
