So the year's almost halfway through already (can't believe it!), I thought it would be a good idea to hear what new music people have been enjoying so far this year.

My top albums so far have been:

Biffy Clyro - Puzzle
Explosions in the Sky - All of a Sudden I miss Everyone
Porcupine Tree - Fear of a blank planet
Bloc Party - A Weekend in the City
The Good The Bad and the Queen - Self Titled

Looking forward to the new QOTSA album (next week?)

Interested to hear other recommendations

Year zero was strong.

I've heard era vulgaris, it's really cool, I'll be picking it up next week for sure.

Feist The Reminder was a nice album.

and Eat me Drink me(marilyn manson) and minutes to midnight(linkin park) were huge disappointments.

Looking forward to: Dillinger escape plan, matt good, puscifer

It's been a pretty good year so far.

Of Montreal - Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer?
Blonde Redhead - 23
Battles - Mirrored
Porcupine Tree - Fear Of A Blank Planet
Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero
Menomena - Friend And Foe
Dalek - Abandoned Language

Edit: Must have been really out of it this morning to forget Menomena and Dalek...
The QOTSA album should be good. I love the new single.

Earth Hibernaculum -atmospheric 'drone-lite' w/ a good DVD to boot
Yoko Ono Yes I'm A Witch - simply stunning album of remixes
Battles Mirrored - techy, prog dance with a huge sense of fun
Bjork Volta - because I love her
The Doors 40th Anniversary Editions of their studio albums- just because.

Year Zero is the strongest for me thus far.

Also, PT's Fear of a Blank Planet, and maybe Battles Mirrored, though I am still sort of 'evaluating' it.

When the Steve Hoffman remastered Fleetwood Mac (Rumours) and ZZ Top (Tres Hombers) come out (albeit vinyl) that will win in my book. I may even buy a turn table.

The best music I got this year was not new music. But thats for another thread.
