Hey everyone, newbie here needs some help for some good headphones.

I tried the JVC Marshmallows and a couple of other in-ear headphones and am not really too fond of the earphone going directly into my ear, near my eardrum. It just feels way too uncomfortable for me.

I've considered the Koss KSC-75's as well and am debating about getting them. The only downside is that they clip over the ear and tend to be a "slight" hassle.

I know I'm being very picky so bear with me but, what would you recommend for some cheap, good, regular earphones. I'm not 100% what it's officially called but, just regular earphones. Like the one's that come with a Vision M or an Ipod. I'm looking for that kind of style of headphones.

What would you recommend for a good quality, cheap, headphone.

So I guess, my key needs: Non-inearphone, non-clipover headphone, Vision M/Ipod style earphone is a key.

First off let me just say that you screen name is very cool.

I'd recommend Koss PortaPros. They have a similar sound signature to the KSC-75, but are a regular band style headphone. They're an entry level favorite around here, and well deserving of that reputation.

Sennheiser MX50 (or MX51), doesn't sound as good as E888 but a lot cheaper (and still beat anything in its price range). They are the equivalent of KSC75 in the earbud's world, IMO. It really out performs it price.

Koss UR40 would be my recommendation. IMHO they are more ambient and have slightly better soundstage than the KSC75. Although they are not as bass-heavy (which is a good thing in my book). Radio shack sells a re-badged version, and they have them on display for you to try out.

The iGrado is a better choice IMHO, but they are a little more than $50.

edit... oops... didn't read your post carefully. Neither the UR40 or iGrado are earbud types.

What you're looking for is an "earbud".

Those would be almost universally preferred over the E888 but unfortunately they are $69, which runs above the OP's budget. The E888 might actually be preferable if he listens to classical/ambient stuff almost exclusively, though.

If MX550 is you target, than MX50/51 will be the wiser choice since it is a newer improved model over the old models.

On a side note, can anyone points me to a Yuin PK series review that have a comparison over the E888? I have done my search (which came back empty) and read most of the RK1/2 reviews I can find, but nothing specific on E888. Thanks in advance.

Yup, that leaves...headphones and speakers.
I was about to say "GOD D**M IT! Don't think. Buy KSC75", but I guess this is not the case.
