I'd really like to keep it under $100 or as low as possible but $150 is the limit. I will be using these for long periods of time, maybe even all day, non stop. So I'd really like them to be comfortable.

Please help me, i am a complete "noob" when it comes to headphones.
Thanks, oh and i use newegg for most of my goods, but i will use other sites as well. Thanks

Don't mind him.

Are you open to IEMs? What kind of music do you listen to?

My god. Read the freaking OP. His budget is $150 max. If you aren't going to take the time to read the thread, don't comment on it.

What are IEMs? Also I'm going to be using these for gaming mainly. I don't want to turn up the volume to much i like to keep the volume low and still have noise canceling.

Here's the situation which i need them for :

I live with my aunt, my computer is next to the tv, it can't be moved else where. My aunt watches soap operas, on max volume. The TV is pretty loud , and i can't stand the soap operas. So thats why i wanna get the noise canceling headphones.

Sorry if i sound a little angered, it just pisses me off that im gonna have to shell out so much money for some headphones.

THANKS SO FAR!!!!

Bose Triport AE is exactly what I was talking about.

It provides good isolation although it is not active noise canceling.
====================
And it actually sounds not that bad.

imo, noise isolating headphones are a lot better than noise canceling. if you dont mind your ear canals being intruding (takes a day or two to get used to it), i would go for an IEM. For $35, you can get JVC Air Cushions. For $57 you can get Mylarone X3i. There both pretty decent for isolation, especially with double flanged tips.

I would second the ATH-ANC7's too. I haven't personally auditioned them but my mom uses them for her noisy cubicle, and it works for her.

And an IEM (in-ear monitor) is something like this

I'm only using that link for the picture, not suggesting it or anything. Sort of like ear plugs but with sound coming out of them.

If that is your goal, I think that you should consider IEMs (In-Ear Monitors), which go pretty deep into your ear and provide a seal, physically blocking outside sound from getting in.

With that in mind, you might consider the GX400 or GX100 (E.D.G.E. Acoustics Products).

I believe that E.D.G.E Acoustics is the fairly new gaming division of Etymotic Research, which is a highly-regarded earphone manufacturer. The earphones are pretty new, but I think that they're based on the ER4, which many tout as highly-recommended.

yet another vote for ANC7. However. If you're looking to use the headphones in daily commutes, IEMs might be better for you.
If you travel frequently via plane and trains, Active noise canceling have more benefits
