What are the best music video DVDs you guys have seen?

I want to get into watching more videos, but the quality of most of the stuff online is really low, and videos on television are rarely from artists in which I am even remotely interested. MTVU has some surprisingly underground stuff on every once in a while though, so it can be worth tuning into.


The only DVD I have right now is The Knife's Silent Shout an Audio Visual Experience. It is really cool, and I would highly recommend picking it up when they reissue it for the Silent Shout special edition later this year. The title track has the best video, I think.

Also, what are your favorite videos in general? I'll try to track them down somewhere other than youtube.

Massive Attack released a good collection of their music videos, as did Peter Gabriel. Both of them are worth picking up. I also thought the Chris Cunningham music video collection was very good.

My favorite video still is, after all these years, "Rabbit In Your Headlights" by UNKLE.

The only music video DVD I've held on to is Pavement's Slow Century. Then again their vids aren't the highest quality. Course they're a "low-fi" band.

My fav is the Beastie Boys - Awsome i fkin shot that

They gave out 50 cams to fans, and had them record the show from their point of view. Its a really good show.

Sting's All This Time is a great concert DVD. I bought it to test out the digital surround of home theater system. Interestingly, it was filmed on 9/11, so he makes references to the tragedy in between songs.

Metallica's Cunning Stunts is a live performance and it's quite impressive IMO

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones' "Live at the Quick" DVD provides a wonderful mix of music, concert video, interviews, etc. that really gives a great introduction to the individual band personnel and how their music emerges from their collaborations and their solo musical adventures around the world.
