Been guilty of letting my player get over 50% volume lately and it's flaring up my tinnitus. Dealt with it for 20+ years so no need to make this a hearing issues thread. Don't worry I'm the guy who wears earplugs to concerts and such.
Anyways I wanna keep the Fuze under 50% volume with no amp and get the best sound possible. Been using Meelec M6's and they're alright for what they are, but to me there just like a good co-axial car speaker that's just trying to hard to be it all. I'd like the analytical, detailed, clarity and non-fatiguing sound the audiophiles crave. Would love to feel like I'm sitting there in the sound room with the singer or pianist and get truly immersed in what I am listening to. No sharp/abrasive treble and they don't need to be bass heavy - quality over quantity (the thumping never helps the ears either). And I really need maximum isolation for commuting on the subway.
I asked Joker last week about a better sounding M6 and feel bad for buggin him. In all reality I want to get away from the v-shape and move into something far more smooth, accurate, neutral and monitor like. I just don't want them to sound thin.
