I saw Pastorius live just before is death and it was awfull. I'm pretty sure that even Gpalmer could have sound better than what I heard that night....

I love Charlie Haden's music, really do, but I don't think he's a great player technically seen. When I saw him live with Pat Metheny he didn't play very well, maybe just a bad day.

Scott Lafaro, the great jazz bass player with the original Bill Evans Trio. He died tragically in a car accident not long after the classic '60s Village Vanguard sessions, in Flint, NY, just a few miles from where I live.
