So, $50 might sound like a tight budget, but then theres amazon. Amazon has great deals on headphones. For example, sennheiser cx500 for $30-$40. so, what are the best earbuds i can get on there for under $50? somewhere theres a section of sale earbuds and earphones but i cant find it righgt now.

hmmm never heard of them. would they be better or worse than sennheiser cx500? (those were my old headphones)

I think they will be a improvement to the CX500, sharing the same cabling with the CX300 is NOT a good thing....also, lower end sennheiser models are greatly overpriced IMO...I suspect there is a reason (possibly and likely multiple) reasons they aren't promoted as the best in terms of bang for the buck, the CX300 really stunk

cx500's are extremely average for $30, if your budget was that tight I'd go with meelectronics headphones which should sound better and are cheaper too.  The red m11's on amazon for $35 would be a good choice.  With $50 I'd just go with brainwaves if bass is what you like.  The lower end Sennheiser headphones are all very bassy so if you liked them then you'll enjoy the m2's as well.

I was in your same position 5 times over the past year. I bought the mee6, ne6, and cx500, and i can safely say that the cx500s are the best. I found that the ne6's have even more bloated bass than the cx500s, and the treble rolloff is perfect on the sennheisers but too much on the nuforce's. i also think that the ne-6s emphasize mids so much that they distort. i found the mee6 to be too recessed and siblant.
