I'm looking for a pair of IEM's for my iphone. I'm mainly listening to music dominated by bass (dance, electronica, dubstep etc) and need some advice on which set to buy. I've been looking at westone UM2's, Etymotic hf2/5's, Jay q-Jays to name a couple.

Can anybody recommend which are best suited or anything different?

JH-16 / UE-11 / UE-18 are the best bass monsters around

Cheers for that as much as i would love to own a pair of any of those monitors i'm not quite a millionnaire, not just yet. I've owned a pair of UE 5 pro's and the cabling has gone twice both down the right side so i'm not interested in theirs really. Plus what is it with the right had side? I've had a pair of shure's and the right side died on those too.

I own the Westone 3 and have tried the IE8s.

You won't go wrong with either.

IE8 gets my vote if money isn't a big issue. On the cheap, Denon C751 is a quite good all-arounder with good bass emphasis. On the super cheap, NE-7M, bass heavy but not extended.

I'm a little concerned that the Westone 3's are a little too expensive and that they will pick up any deficiencies in recordings of songs making them pretty useless unless listening to the cd through an amp. How do the UM2's compare? Also is there a noticeable lack in quality with the single driver IE8 over dual driver IEM's? I read they hold their own pretty well against brands such as Shure's 530's.

In a contest of overall SQ, how would you guys compare the westone 3 to the ie8. since they are both very good with bass.

I think Turbine Pro, IE7, JVC FX700 will suite you better for these genres...............

Are the Turbine Pro's single driver? They seem expensive if they are.
