Best IEM for EDM listening?
Mar 20, 2014 at 9:54 PM Post #16 of 23
I concur, although I would suggest the Bass Edition as it elevates the lower frequencies a little bit more compared to the regular GR07 model, it is probably the best IEM you can get in this price range.

I would have suggested the GR07BE but they are no longer in production. I have the BE. BTW this is the cheapest place to get Vsonics:

Ya, I just noticed that they have restocked. It was out of stock for the past month or two there.

Check out the VSonic GR99's. Under $30 shipped and they kick ass for bassy music like EDM. I just got my pair in and have no complaints. Good quality materials and the packaging really surprised me for the price. Listening to hip hop and edm on them with great results. I also own some a pair of Ultimate Ears IEM that were over $100 and prefer the gr99 over them.

On the last page of the thread I asked them how it compares to the special edition

The gr07s pretty much crush the se215 special edition in terms of overall sound quality, but the se215 se is more fun ( a lot more bass)

NO PLEASE NOT SHURE. not offense, but ever since I had them, I tried to "burn them in" but it was pointless, excessive highs are just not good enough. they're good for R&B, and rap, but not big house drops that EDM has. idk about other se models, but se215 isn't what youre looking for trust me I have them and my sony XB400 even beats them

Are you sure they're fitting in right?
I've never heard anybody say that its too bright (and the measurements show a warm tilt with laid back treble)

I'm going to bump this thread.

I'm looking for an IEM for my GF. She listens to EDM so I need something with good bass and open soundstage. She also listens to indie, acoustic music like Death Cab for Cutie or City and Colour so something not too fatiguing in the upper register or low-end heavy (I know, good luck)

Price: Under $80, pretty inflexible.
