- i listen to mainly hardstyle and trance and a little bit of rock and rap, so versatility is good
-its for my ipod/comp
-i like a lot of bass(enhanced?) that is smooth
-no idea what its called, but i dont like whatever typically causes headaches/irritation.
-comfort
-will be used mainly indoor but occasionally outdoor or on a bus/plane

i was thinkin the akg k81dj, EA rp21, ATH-PRO5V, or the senn HD25SP
any suggestions/help?

These are the only phones I have heard to date that sound good in the $100 or less category that will likely meet (or in some cases exceed) your needs:

Denon D1000
Alessandro MS-1
Grado SR-60
Grado SR-80 (bowls may cause comfort issues for some)
Equation Audio RP-21
Equation Audio RP-15MC
KOSS KSC75, Portapro, Sportapro
Yuin PK2

Might as well take K81 DJs right off the list - by far the most uncomfortable phones I have ever had the displeasure of owning/wearing.

K81DJ's would be a good choice aside from the fact aforementioned by lmilhan. Really I can't wear them for more than three hours and that's after bending the headband and modding the pads.

if you love bass get the RP-21s, best, clean hitting bass unamped/amped under $100. If you take out the foamies they are even better all around.

My vote is....

Alessandro MS1.

People can't say enough good stuff about that phone and its under 100 USD. Very bassy headphone. Have fun with your headphones. A

Very bassy headphone it is not! Very little bass would be correct.
