Edit: He also just replied that others with volume control give more db than the sr80i's. The 80i's only have 32 ohm impedance, but several of the a4tech headsets only have 16 ohms, and s-tek are the same story.

No they have same 32 ohm impedance. Sennheiser HD555 with 50 ohm still produce 2x louder volume than Grado.
