Hi guys,

what would you consider to be the best selection of headphones at about £600. The sennheiser HD700's have caught my eye with a great deal of people giving them a great review. Are there any obviously better alternatives that i have over looked at this price point. Also, i have a quote for a brand new pair of HD700's for £525, can you get much better than that? In terms of grado's i don't particularly think very highly of their build quality or rather they leave you wanting more (literally just paying for the drivers) although this is completely my personal opinion. I would very much appreciate any feedback you guys must have. My main use will be use with my graham slee novo headphone amp.

Thanks in advance

Hi mikester135

Have you looked at the Audeze LCD-2/Denon AH-D7000/Hifiman HE500 or if you're lucky the Beyerdynamic T1s. The Sen HD700 has a lot of plastic in its construction so may feel cheap, whereas the aforementioned headphones are either primarily metal or real wood.

Cheers

James
