I just bought a iPod recently and I really don't like to use the earbuds that came with it. So I want to find some really good headphones for about 50 or 60 dollars. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be most appreciated.

you have to give more information on what type of music you listen to, which type of headphone, open or closed, forward or laid back sounding, portable or nonportable.

check out the first thread you see in the headphones section. "Recommendations for Best headphones on the market (new and old)"

Do you want sealed or open? Buds, full-size, wrap-around, slip-on, what do you want?

Open: Koss PortaPros, KSC-35's

Closed: Senn PX-200

Buds...if you're willing to mod them a little, Sony EX71s are a fave among iPod owners and can be made to sound pretty good. Certainly heads above the stock buds, those things are awful.

I totally agree with sleepkyng

Koss KSC-35 (a great match for portable use)
Grado SR60 (excellent sound, though not perfect for portability)

I also say SR60. Great sound for the cost, although terrible if you need any isolation, or if sound leakage is a problem. And it's true, they aren't as portable as some phones, although they're fine if you have someplace to put them (i.e. a backpack, etc.).

Let me add two to the list:
Sony MDR-CD580 (open/non-portable) under $60
Sony MDR-V6 (closed/semi-portable) around high $60

Koss KSC 35. I think Porta Pro's also have the same driver...

You can crap out and get Ksc 50s for less than $20, but they're really heavy. 35s are nice and light.

no, no sony v6, get the ath-m30 instead of you want closed and full size, there are no sound fatigueness and softer and more comfortable to wear.

for portable, i'd say the px200 for midsize, and sharp hp-md33s for isolating earphone.
