First I want to apologize for another best headphones for $300 thread. But I have some specific questions. I'm looking for a good headphone with nice bass. Iam thinking of getting the Sony MDR-XB1000 seen here...http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004L721I2/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=&seller=

Unfortunately these have been discontinued by Sony, so whatever is left is all that is available. Anyways I listen to a lot of hip hop and think that a bass heavy headphone would be preferable. I'll wait for your responses, thanks in advance.

If you have a good dac/amp I would go for a pro 900, without an amp there still pretty good but if your looking for bass the amp is a must.

Pro 900 is that an amp or headphones?, I do plan on getting an amp to use.

Ultrasone Pro 900's are a headphone lol.
 
They are considered the "King of Bass" as far as audiophile headphones go.

Ultrasone is pretty good with the warranty too, I tried to fix my right driver wire myself and I opened the thing and accidentally poked a whole paper and didnt have a soldering iron to fix it and they replaced the headphones anyway, waiting for my replacement to be shipped atm.

Pro900's are good, but you'll need a decent dac for them. They benefit greatly from a good source.

I plan to use these with my phone or laptop, with that being said would you still recommend them
