Best headphone value for $200? (All around)

I'm new to head-fi, but, if memory serves me right, you can modify a Fostex T50RP Damped Semi-open (did a quick search for "Fostex T50RP" and "damped" rang a bell) to sound really good. Should be sub $200. Aside from that, I've heard some good reviews from 2-3 friends who have the DT770.
