Which headphone is best for me to use while playing my guitar? Which one sounds better when connected with the guitar amp? I heard guitars  sound gret on grados... My budget would be around 250 dollars. The sennheiser hd 598 is in that price range, is it good or am I better off with another one?

Another good question to ask is, do you want an open or closed design?

When people say Grados sound good with guitars, they usually are referring to recorded music.  My Grados are too open for straight playing.  I do use them sometimes, but I hear too much of the strings in the room.  I would recommend some AKGs, Audio Technica, or maybe even KRKs for jamming.  Something with a closed or semi-closed design.  There's lots of choices in your price range.  Good luck!

thanks, I would prefer an open design since I will only be using it in my house. What did you mean by "too open for straight playing"? and when you said you could hear the strings in the room, do You mean you can hear the string you pull while your playing?

Yes, I hear the actual strings of the guitar and my pick hitting them in the room. The un-amplified guitar sound.  So, I would have to cranky up my headphones to not be distracted by that.  I love my Grados, but when I'm jamming my guitar, my go to headphones are the ATH-M50s.

I didn't mean to dismiss your question about the HD598s.  Those are great headphones that you will probably wind up using for more than just guitar playing.

You can't really do it you need some kind of signal processor and amp simulator since the speaker and amp are 50 percent of the sound.

For using in a studio setting you want a headphone that can handle really high signal levels without distorting. My SRH840 fits that bill while my DT990pro do not even though beyer claims they are a studio headphone. They are no such thing IMO. They are decent hifi headphones with extended frequencies. SRH840 is a real studio monitoring headphone.
